Anatasio Lopez, born on August 17, 1939, in Mexico, is renowned as the father of the illustrious American comedian and actor George Edward Lopez. Anatasio, a migrant laborer of Mexican descent, married Frieda Lopez. Sadly, he abandoned his two-month-old son, George Lopez, and relocated from place to place.

George Lopez, born on April 23, 1961, in Mission Hills, California, is an American national and bears the astrological sign of Taurus. Following Anatasio’s departure, George’s mother also deserted him at the age of ten, leaving him in the care of his maternal grandparents, Benita Gutierrez and Refugio Gutierrez. George graduated from San Fernando High School and worked in the same factory where his grandmother had worked before embarking on a career as a comedian.

George, who recognized his penchant for comedy early in life, performed stand-up comedy for several years before his notable performance in the 2000 comedy film, which launched his career to new heights. He went on to appear in several successful films such as ‘Car Dogs’, ‘Valentine’s Day’, and ‘Bread and Roses.’ Among the prominent television series he has appeared in over the years are ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ ‘Once Upon a Time in Aztlan,’ ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood,’ and ‘Harley Quinn,’ to name a few.

Lopez’s stand-up comedy, which frequently portrays his negligent and socially inept upbringing, focuses on the topics of culture and racial relations. He is a recipient of several prestigious accolades, including the Walk of Fame, Teen Choice Awards, Official Latino Film, Imagen Foundation Awards, Arts Festival, and ALMA Awards.

In 1993, George Lopez married Ann Serrano, and they welcomed their daughter Mayan in 1996. Sadly, the couple’s union ended in a divorce, finalized on July 1, 2011, after several years of “irresolvable disagreements.” Lopez has a hereditary ailment that led to kidney failure, and his wife generously donated her kidney, which led to a successful transplant and his subsequent loss of 20 kilograms. He shed light on this issue by having his character’s son Max diagnosed with the same ailment on his show.
